It looks like Lionel Scaloni will remain as head coach of the Argentina national team regardless of the results at the World Cup.
Details: According to Topskills Sport UK, the Argentine Football Association has initiated negotiations with the 47-year-old current head coach, Lionel Scaloni.

Interestingly, AFA president Claudio Tapia wants to secure a new agreement with Scaloni before the start of the 2026 World Cup, aiming to ease the pressure on both the manager and the team as a whole.
According to sources, the talks are progressing well and an official announcement regarding the contract extension is expected soon.
Scaloni took charge of the Argentina squad back in 2018. During his tenure, he has led the team in 90 matches, securing 67 wins, 14 draws, and just 9 losses. Under his guidance, Argentina clinched the Copa America title twice and famously lifted the coveted World Cup trophy in 2022.
