The disputes between the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Boxing Association have not yet affected boxing's presence in the Olympic Games program.

Details: It was previously speculated that due to these disputes, boxing might not be included in the 2028 Summer Games program, but the IOC Executive Board has advised keeping the sport, as announced by IOC President Thomas Bach.

The decision was made amidst the "provisional recognition" of World Boxing as the leading global boxing organization. However, the final decision on whether boxing will be included in the Los Angeles Games program will be made by the IOC session.

Reminder: In July 2024, the IOC withdrew recognition from the IBA because the organization, led by Russian Umar Kremlev, allowed Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under their national flags, contrary to IOC recommendations. Later, the IOC banned athletes from IBA member federations from participating in the 2028 Olympics.
