Legendary rapper Eminem might join the bid for an expansion franchise in the WNBA, reports TMZ.

According to the publication, the musician could become one of the co-owners of a women's basketball team from Detroit. He has already held preliminary discussions on the matter. Although an official contract has not yet been signed, it seems that Em has a strong interest in such an opportunity.

It is worth noting that currently there are 13 teams in the WNBA, but starting from the 2026 season, there will be 15. Next year, teams from Portland and Toronto are set to join. Incidentally, tennis legend Serena Williams recently became a co-owner of the Toronto Tempo team.

It is anticipated that in 2028, the WNBA will gain another team, and Detroit has already submitted an application for this spot. However, it should be noted that the competition for it will be extremely fierce, with Houston, Cleveland, Charlotte, and Austin in the race, as well as Kansas City, supported by NFL star Patrick Mahomes.

Who knows, maybe Eminem's presence will help Detroit secure the coveted spot in the League?
