Inter Milan has faced a setback as two of their main players have fallen to injuries and won't be able to assist the team in their upcoming matches. Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are set to spend approximately three weeks on the sidelines, as reported by Sport.sky.it.

Medical examinations revealed muscular issues in the left thigh for both players. Both athletes are scheduled for further examinations next week.

As a result, the Dutch internationals are expected to miss three Serie A matches (against Udinese, Lazio, and Lecce), the match against Real Sociedad in the Champions League, and another fixture against Bologna in the Italian Cup. The club hopes for their return in time for the Italian championship match against Genoa on December 29th.

Dumfries and de Vrij sustained their injuries during the match against Napoli in the 14th round of Serie A held last weekend. It's worth noting that Inter secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Napoli during that match.

31-year-old central defender de Vrij has participated in 17 matches for Nerazzurri in the ongoing season. Meanwhile, 27-year-old right-back Dumfries has played 16 matches in all competitions, netting two goals and providing four assists.

Inter currently leads the Serie A standings. While they have already secured a spot in the Champions League knockout stages, they will compete against Real Sociedad for the top spot in their group.
