Inter can't agree on new contract with their top star
Inter is currently unable to reach an agreement with their leading striker, Lautaro Martinez, on the terms of a new contract.
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Inter is offering the Argentine three million less in salary than he desires. New negotiations between the parties are expected in the coming days.
Lautaro, 26, has been with the Nerazzurri since 2018 when Inter paid Racing Club €25 million for his services.
Since then, the Argentine international, with 56 caps and 22 goals for his country, has scored 129 goals in 282 appearances for the Milanese club.
With 24 goals to his name, Martinez emerged as Serie A's top scorer in the 2023/24 season, while Inter clinched the Italian title with a 19-point lead.
Earlier reports indicated that Inter's key defender would miss the 2024 European Championship.
