Inter and Italy national team defender is close to returning to action after injury

Inter Milan and Italy defender Francesco Acerbi is close to returning to action following his injury.

According to Tuttosport and Gianluca Di Marzio, Acerbi has resumed training with the Nerazzurri. The 36-year-old is currently training on an individual program, but the club has confirmed that they will not rush his recovery unless absolutely necessary.

Inter has a series of preseason friendly matches scheduled in the coming weeks, including games against Al-Ittihad in Monza in August and against Chelsea a few days later. However, it has not been confirmed whether Acerbi will participate in these matches.

The experienced defender underwent groin surgery in early June, which forced him to leave the Italian national team camp before Euro 2024.
