Having recently made his debut for the South African national team at the COSAFA Cup, 21-year-old centre-back Ime Okon is set to become a free agent soon. His contract with SuperSport United expires at the end of the month, and the defender has attracted interest from a host of clubs.

According to FARPost, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are among the clubs monitoring the defender. Okon is currently considering offers both from South Africa and from abroad as he weighs up his next move.

It's worth recalling that Okon spent several weeks on trial with Dynamo Kyiv in the winter, but the transfer ultimately fell through. Now, the reigning Ukrainian champions, as well as Denmark's Midtjylland, are seen as leading contenders to sign the talented youngster.

Earlier, in April, SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews announced plans to extend Okon's contract and include a buy-out clause for foreign clubs. However, the new deal was never finalized.
