Famed DR Congo supporter Michel Nkuka Mboladinga will not be able to attend the 2026 World Cup match against England in the United States.
Details: According to Telegraph Sport, DR Congo’s superfan was denied a visa, meaning his seat in the stands will be filled by a younger stand-in.

The new fan is expected to replicate Mboladinga’s trademark poses, which turned him into a recognizable symbol of DR Congo’s passionate support.
The story has gained extra attention after Mboladinga went viral on social media for his powerful protest against the silence surrounding the conflict in eastern DR Congo. Footage showed him covering his mouth with his hand and miming a gun to his head.
It remains unclear whether the visa decision is directly related to this incident. Regardless, it’s a significant loss for DR Congo, who will be missing their cult hero in the stands for this crucial clash against England.
Now, instead of the legendary supporter, another fan will have to step up - not just to fill the seat, but to try and preserve the unique atmosphere that Mboladinga created.
