Instead of €80m — just €40m? Nottingham Forest eye blockbuster deal

The Forest back line is in need of reinforcements.

Details: Nottingham Forest are hoping to make progress in talks with Sporting over the transfer of centre-back Ousmane Diomande in the near future.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the English side is confident that, after submitting an official bid, they can move closer to sealing the deal. However, Forest have no intention of triggering the €80 million release clause written into the defender’s contract.

The total package, including bonuses and add-ons, is expected to be around €40 million. Much now depends on the stance of the Lisbon club, which has yet to give a definitive response.

Ousmane Diomande’s transfer value is currently estimated at €42 million by Transfermarkt, while his contract with Nottingham Forest runs until 2030.
