Inside Real Madrid, a rift has emerged over Xabi Alonso’s methods

Real Madrid are currently delivering unconvincing performances, having dropped to second place in La Liga, and tensions have surfaced within the squad regarding the manager’s approach.

Details: According to Mario Cortegana, some players inside the dressing room remain unconvinced by Xabi Alonso’s working methods. However, another group firmly believes the coach is not the problem.

Quote: One player, speaking behind closed doors, stated, “This is not the coach’s fault — it’s absolutely obvious.”

After the UEFA Champions League match against Olympiacos, several players — including Mbappé, Valverde, and Camavinga — faced the media and attempted to calm the situation surrounding the team.

We also previously reported that Xabi Alonso has been given several matches to turn the situation around. Florentino Pérez believes that if the club is ultimately forced to change direction and dismiss Alonso, Zinedine Zidane would take over as head coach until the end of the season.

Reminder: Real Madrid winger Rodrygo set an unwanted club record that had stood for 123 years.
