With a thin roster, Manchester United traveled to London for their Premier League matchup against Tottenham. A lengthy list of ailments has forced manager Ruben Amorim to rely on young players.
Among the young players is Sékou Koné, a midfielder for Mali. The 18-year-old has won a berth in the senior squad after playing for the U21s after coming from Guidars FC. Both his impressive performances and the lack of important midfield players like Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, and Toby Collyer contributed to his selection.
Despite starting on the bench, Koné, who excelled at the U17 AFCON and World Cup with Mali in 2023, is seen as a promising player for both club and nation.
Chido Obi, a 17-year-old striker who has scored seven goals in three FA Youth Cup games, is also on the bench. Harry Amass, Tyler Fredricson, Elyh Harrison, Jack Fletcher, and Jack Moorhouse are some other names from the academy.
Due to injuries plaguing the team, these young players may have an opportunity to establish themselves at the highest level.
