The Argentina national team will have to defend their world champions title.

Details: In an interview with ESPN, 38-year-old Inter Miami and Argentina midfielder Lionel Messi said that the World Cup is always a special moment, and even if he doesn't make Argentina's squad for the tournament, he will still watch it on television:

"In the worst case, I'll watch it live, but it will be a special event. The World Cup is a special event for everyone, especially for us, because we experience it in a completely different way," Messi told ESPN SC.

Argentina won the last World Cup in 2022, defeating France in a penalty shootout. Earlier, Messi stated that the upcoming World Cup would be his last.

This season, Messi has played 48 matches for Inter Miami, scoring 43 goals and providing 24 assists.
