The Saudi Pro League has altered the limit on foreign players
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has implemented modifications to the foreign player quota beginning from the 2024/2025 season.
Henceforth, clubs will be allowed to register up to 10 foreign players for the season, starting from the following summer. Currently, clubs are restricted to registering no more than eight players with foreign passports.
The maximum number of players allowed in the season's registration will be 25 individuals, a reduction from the previous limit of 30 players. For Saudi Arabia's league matches, clubs can enlist up to eight foreign players, while there will be no restrictions for the Cup and Super Cup.
It's noted that this decision was made following agreement with all clubs, the national team leadership, and the technical director of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
Earlier reports suggested that changes to the foreign player limit were planned to minimize the necessity of selling certain foreign players to finance the acquisition of others.
