Atletico Madrid could potentially make one of the most shocking transfers of the year this summer.

According to journalist Ruben Uria, Diego Simeone's team may acquire Barcelona's top scorer Robert Lewandowski as their new striker.

Barcelona aims to significantly revamp its squad and reduce wage expenses this summer. As Lewandowski is the highest-paid player at the club, his potential sale seems like a logical step for the team.

On social media, the possible transfer of Lewandowski has been compared to Luis Suarez's move from Barcelona to Atletico. Following his departure from the Catalan club, Suarez scored 21 goals in the 2020/21 season, helping Atletico win La Liga.

In the current season, Lewandowski has scored 20 goals and provided 9 assists in 39 matches across all competitions. His contract with Barcelona is set to expire in the summer of 2026.
