Barcelona are actively seeking reinforcements for their central defense following Andreas Christensen's long-term injury.
Details: According to Mundo Deportivo, one of the main candidates to replace Christensen is 33-year-old Stefan de Vrij from Inter.
De Vrij's potential move from Inter to Barcelona hinges on whether the Milan club manages to secure another central defender. Inter have shown interest in Mario Gila from Lazio and Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo. Should either of them join, the path could be cleared for de Vrij to make the switch to Barcelona.
It is worth noting that de Vrij has been playing for Inter since 2018 and his contract runs until June 30, 2026. This season, the Dutchman has made 11 appearances without registering a goal or assist. Transfermarkt currently values him at €3.5 million.
Previously, Barcelona had also shown interest in another Dutch defender, Nathan Aké.
