"In October, we wouldn't have won," said the Germany coach about the match against Hungary
Germany defeated Hungary 2-0 in the second round of the Euro 2024 group stage. This result guaranteed the German team a place in the playoffs.
Germany's coach Julian Nagelsmann commented on this victory, stating that they wouldn't have won this match last October.
"There were moments when we had to show resilience, but this is part of our maturation process. In October, we wouldn't have won today's match 2-0. At this level, consistency is crucial. It was a very tough opponent, but we played at a consistently high level throughout the match. It's not easy, but we managed it today," Nagelsmann said.
He also thanked the fans for their support, adding that they propel the team forward. The team's goal is to keep the fans dreaming.
It's worth noting that the German Football Association has extended the contract with head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Notably, Nagelsmann has become the youngest coach to lead a team to the European Championship playoffs.
