"I'm experiencing the best period of my life" - André Onana shares his impressions of life in Turkey
It seems Onana has no intention of leaving Trabzonspor.
Details: In an interview with The Mirror, 29-year-old Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor, shared his impressions after spending three months in Turkey.
According to Onana, he has found happiness with his new club and is thrilled he made the move to Trabzonspor:
"I am very happy, believe me. I am experiencing the best period of my life. I have nothing to complain about, I am truly glad to be here. Sometimes I’m driving and a car cuts me off. ‘Onana, stop, I want a photo.’ I think to myself, ‘Yes, but maybe we could do this differently.’ But when they see me, they’re happy, and I am too. At first, it was tough, but now I understand.
They are my people, I love them, and I love this feeling. Because they are so passionate about what they do. It’s wonderful. You simply can’t put it into words if you haven’t been here." Onana admitted.
André Onana joined Trabzonspor on loan from Manchester United in September of this year. During his time in Turkey, Onana has played 13 matches, conceding 19 goals and keeping three clean sheets. His loan deal with Trabzonspor runs until June 2026.
Although there is no option to buy Onana included in the agreement between Trabzonspor and Manchester United, the Turkish club’s management is exploring every possible avenue to keep the Cameroonian shot-stopper in their squad.
Reminder: Tough times. André Onana left out of Cameroon's squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations
