Ilkay Gündogan set to join Galatasaray
Turkish giants Galatasaray are on the verge of finalizing the transfer of Manchester City midfielder.
Details: According to sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the clubs are in the final stages of negotiations over the move of 39-year-old Ilkay Gündogan from Manchester City to Galatasaray.
The player himself has given a positive response regarding the potential switch, despite receiving offers from Saudi Arabia. Clearly, the midfielder has no intention of ending his career at the top level and wants to remain in Europe, which significantly boosts Galatasaray’s chances of landing the Manchester City star.
Ilkay Gündogan joined Manchester City in 2016. During his stint, he went on loan to Barcelona, but returned to Manchester after his contract ended. Last season, he made 50 appearances, scored 3 goals, and provided 7 assists.
Reminder: Leroy Sané is now a Galatasaray player
