"I thought it would be different." Vitor Roque spoke about his stay in Barcelona
Barcelona forward Vitor Roque spent just half a year at the club before being forced to switch teams, as he was unable to secure a regular spot on the field. For at least one season, he will now play for another club.

Details: In the winter, Barcelona completed the transfer of Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense for €40 million. However, the forward failed to gain the trust of the coaching staff during his time at the club. Roque made only two starts and accumulated just over 300 minutes on the field.
Additionally, Xavi Hernández did not rely on the Brazilian for key matches - Roque did not feature in the Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, or top La Liga fixtures.
The arrival of a new coach could have changed this, but Hansi Flick, who took over, also did not plan to use the forward, forcing Roque to seek a new opportunity. Barcelona actively searched for a buyer, with Napoli and Saudi Arabian clubs among the main contenders.
However, Roque wished to remain in Spain and found a chance to stay by joining Real Betis on loan for at least one season.
Quote: Speaking with Diario AS, Vitor Roque reflected on his challenging time at Barcelona:
"My time at Barça? It was a bit difficult for me. I had some chances, but not as many as I expected.
My mind is clear now. I’m focused on Betis, and I’m thankful to God for the opportunity to wear the national team shirt again.
I thought things would be different - in approach, in style, and in how tactics were communicated to me. But that’s all in the past now."
Reminder: Vitor Roque has joined Betis on a one-year loan with the option to extend for another season. Betis will cover his wages and retain a purchase option, reportedly set at €25 million.
After his move, Roque made his debut for Betis, coming on as a substitute against Real Madrid and playing 34 minutes, though he did not contribute to the scoreline.
