Haaland is close to extending his contract with Manchester City. Still, there is one condition
At present, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is regarded as one of the best players in the world. He enjoys playing for his team and appears ready to commit his future to the club, though he does not rule out a potential transfer.
Haaland’s current contract runs until 2027, and Manchester City plans to offer an extension. While the 24-year-old forward is open to extending his stay, he reportedly wishes to retain a buyout clause that could appeal to Real Madrid, according to Marca.
Real Madrid has long admired the Norwegian striker and sought to sign him during his time at Borussia Dortmund. However, Haaland chose City at the time.
This summer, Real Madrid secured one of their primary transfer targets, Kylian Mbappé, on a free transfer. However, in the case of Haaland, they would have to pay a substantial fee. According to Transfermarkt, Haaland's contract is valued at €180 million, but if the Spanish champions express serious interest, Manchester City could significantly raise the asking price.
As a reminder, in 2022, City paid Borussia Dortmund €60 million for Haaland.
