"I just want to enjoy this." Howe on Newcastle's historic trophy

Newcastle defeated Liverpool in the English League Cup final. The "Magpies" secured a 2-1 victory, claiming their first League Cup in history.

After the match, Newcastle's head coach Eddie Howe commented on his team's historic trophy.

Quote. "First, I just want to enjoy this. I always think about tomorrow, but I will put my coaching books aside for a few days.

Both teams were quite straightforward, and we handled it excellently. No one wanted to make mistakes, there wasn't much beautiful football, but we were efficient in both penalty areas.

We didn't want to show our cards when we played them a few weeks ago; we still wanted to win this game, just did it differently," Howe told BBC.

Reminder. Howe became the first English coach to win a domestic trophy since 2008.
