"I hope he wins the Ballon d'Or" - Arteta on Rice's prospects
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta responded to a question about whether Declan Rice could become a future Ballon d'Or winner.
Details: Ahead of the London derby against Chelsea, Mikel Arteta stated that he would love to see Declan Rice win the Ballon d'Or. According to him, if that happens, it will mean Arsenal have achieved tremendous success.
"I hope so! If it happens, it means we've won a lot – usually, that award is associated with that," Arteta said.
The Gunners' boss emphasized that Rice is in outstanding form:
"He was incredible the other day, and I think he's been that way since the start of the season. He's an amazing and key player for us."
It's worth noting that this season, Rice has played nineteen matches for the Gunners across all competitions, scoring twice and providing five assists.
At the moment, Arsenal are confidently leading the Premier League and could win the title for the first time in a long while.
Reminder: Mikel Arteta stated that Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyökeres have recovered and could feature in the match against Chelsea.
