“I have no issues with the national team,” says Andre Onana

Having been left out of Cameroon’s national squad since the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the goalkeeper has spoken about his situation with the Indomitable Lions.

In a recent statement on social media, Andre Onana was keen to clarify that he was not in conflict with the national team or with the Cameroonian Football Federation. However, he singled out one person in particular without revealing their name. In his view, this person is using the Federation and the national team to settle personal scores.

I have no issues with the national team, I have no issue with FECAFOOT. I disagree with an individual who is using FECAFOOT and the national team to settle scores. If you disagree, they’ll get rid of you. I’ve taken a lot of knocks for the love of our country. I was forced into retirement, so all I can do now is support our younger brothers. I’m their number one fan, and I send them messages after matches to congratulate them.
