“I can’t take it anymore.” Barcelona president comments on his team’s victory over Real Madrid

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3–2 in the Spanish Super Cup match, and the Catalan club’s president commented on the win.

Details: According to Joan Laporta, speaking after the match against their arch-rivals, this marked the third consecutive final against Real Madrid. He said he was happy to witness it, but could no longer fully enjoy the moment.

Quote: “Three finals in a row against Real Madrid. It’s a joy to see. I can’t take it anymore. I wanted this so much. I longed for this so badly,” the Barcelona president said.

A controversial moment also occurred during the trophy presentation ceremony. Real Madrid players refused to line up in a guard of honour for their Barcelona rivals.

Reminder: Real Madrid could have taken the match to a penalty shootout, but squandered two incredible chances late on and ultimately lost to Barcelona in the Super Cup final.
