"I can still contribute." Percy Tau wants to play for the national team
Percy Tau is one of South Africa's top footballers, but he hasn't featured for the national team in quite some time and believes he can still make a difference for Bafana Bafana.
Details: According to Percy Tau, he feels he still has plenty to offer the national squad's success.
Quote: "I still feel I can contribute to the country's progress. Yes, there are matches after which doubts or questions arise, but that doesn't make you a bad player and it doesn't change who I am. My name will never change: I am still Percy and I will always strive to give my best."
"Yes, there are players who perform well, but do you really want the national team to be made up only of young players and for all the rest to be pushed out?" Tau stated.
He also added that coaches act as if he's already 38, when in reality he's just 31. Tau is confident that maintaining balance within the squad is crucial.
Quote: "I believe there always has to be balance. You want young players, and you want experienced ones. And by the way, I'm still only 31, but the coaches act like I'm 38," Tau said.
Reminder: The Angola national team claimed the COSAFA Cup title for the fifth time in their history. In the final, they defeated the tournament hosts—South Africa.
