Ryan Garcia, the American lightweight boxer, shared his expectations for the upcoming fight against Devin Haney.

Garcia, known as "The Flash," believes that defeating his upcoming opponent will allow him to surpass the financial achievements of Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

“This is the time, I feel like I am stepping into my prime.

I touch places that ‘Canelo’ [Saul Alvarez] can’t touch and I touch places no fighter right now can touch – just me. I am a marketing machine and I have the will to be the best at everything I do.

Will this fight solidify me as a world champion - yes. Do I need that? Yes. Am I going to do this? Yes. That is just a bonus, but it also signifies he is the face of boxing.” Garcia told DAZN’s YouTube channel.

The bout between Haney and Garcia is scheduled to take place on April 20 in New York. Earlier, Haney's father disclosed how the purse would be split between the fighters for their upcoming professional match.

This will be the seventh encounter between the boxers, but their first in the professional realm, having previously faced each other six times in amateur boxing.
