Haney's father disclosed an unconventional distribution of the fee between Devin and Garcia

Bill Haney, the father of WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney, revealed how the purse will be divided between his son and Ryan Garcia for their upcoming fight.

According to Haney Sr., Devin agreed to take a smaller portion of the purse - 45/55 in favor of Garcia - in order to ensure the fight takes place. Typically, in boxing, the champion receives the larger share of the purse. This information was shared by journalist Michael Benson.

The fight between Haney and Garcia is scheduled to take place on April 20th in New York. This will be the seventh fight between the boxers but their first as professionals. They have previously faced each other six times in amateur boxing.
