Hurricane Milton, which has struck the U.S. in recent days, has caused significant damage to the country’s sports infrastructure.

Details: Due to the powerful winds, the roof of Tropicana Field, home to MLB's Tampa Bay Rays, was torn to shreds.

This stadium was the only one in MLB that was fully enclosed year-round. Now, the club must assess the damage and decide on the next steps for repairs.

Previously, the team and local authorities had agreed on the construction of a new stadium, with plans to break ground in the summer of 2025.

It’s worth noting that Tropicana Field was also intended to serve as a temporary shelter for people who have lost their homes. Authorities had set up 10,000 beds within the arena.

Reminder: Last month, an MLB player knocked out a fun with a home run.
