Hugo Broos has disclosed that he turned down an offer to coach former African champions Ivory Coast.
Broos told Belgian publication that coaching is no longer his priority anymore as the reason he turned down the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations champions down.
“I know myself. In a few months, this situation is going to become a problem. Not that I want to be a coach again, mind you. That chapter is definitely closed, no matter who calls,” said Broos to Nieuwsblad.
"Fourteen days ago, I got a call to start with Ivory Coast. If that question had come ten years earlier, I would already be in Ivory Coast."
The Ivorians have since appointed former coach in Herve Renard, earlier this month, who won them the continental trophy 11 years ago.
