Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Bongokuhle Hlongwane did not play against Panama not because they were not worth the starting line-up.

The USA-based duo was left out of the team because Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos felt they were not in good condition to play.

Bafana played to a 1-1 draw at Moses Mabhida Stadium last night.

Mbokazi plays for Chicago Fire in the MLS while Hlongwane plays for Minnesota United FC in the same league

“The only thing I can say about the team is that Hlongwane and Mbokazi will not play,” Broos told the media.

“This is not tactical. It is not because they are sick or injured. It’s just a question of the trip they made from America to here, and the jet lag.”

The pair may play in the second game on Tuesday night in Cape Town as both nations are preparing for the upcoming World Cup tournament in USA, Mexico and Canada starting in June.
