Real Madrid can breathe easier after a worrying night for their captain.

Details: Federico Valverde has undergone medical tests following the discomfort he suffered during El Clásico against Barcelona, with the initial examinations showing no significant muscle injury. However, Real Madrid have not announced an official diagnosis or confirmed that the Uruguayan will definitely feature against Racing Santander.

Valverde first felt discomfort in the back of his right thigh during the first half at Camp Nou. Despite the problem, the Real Madrid captain continued playing and stayed on the pitch until the 62nd minute, when José Mourinho replaced him with Denzel Dumfries.

The positive test results significantly reduce fears of a serious layoff. Valverde will continue to be monitored in training before the coaching staff make a final call on his involvement in Sunday's away match against Racing Santander.

It is worth noting that Valverde has started all 10 of Real Madrid's LaLiga matches this season. According to LaLiga's official statistics, the 28-year-old Uruguay international has recorded two assists in the competition.
