Former Manchester United and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay has been sentenced for driving under the influence.

Details: Depay, who plays for Corinthians, was sentenced to four months in prison, suspended, by the Monaco criminal court.

The Dutch striker appeared before the Monaco court on Tuesday after being caught driving under the influence on the streets of the Principality on August 6, 2024. His blood alcohol level was measured at 1.01 mg per liter of exhaled air, which equates to over 2 grams of alcohol per liter of blood.

Depay did not attend the hearing and did not even call a lawyer, which resulted in a harsher sentence than expected.

Reminder: Since September of last year, Depay has been a player for Brazilian side Corinthians, with 7 goals and 4 assists in 18 matches.

Earlier, Memphis criticized football officials for the overly congested schedule.
