How did he miss that? Haaland fails to score into an empty net against PSG
Erling Haaland produced one of the most incredible misses of the night at the Etihad.
Details: During Manchester City's Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, with the hosts trailing 0-2 at the moment of the episode, the ball reached Haaland at the far post with the net virtually unguarded. The Norwegian was in an excellent position to pull one back for his team, but somehow failed to turn the chance into a goal.
The episode looked even more surprising because Haaland had already escaped his marker and found himself only a few metres from the goal line. The PSG goalkeeper was unable to fully cover the far post, leaving the Manchester City striker with what appeared to be an almost certain scoring opportunity.
Manchester City desperately needed a response after PSG's powerful start, and Haaland's chance could have given the hosts a way back into the contest. Instead, the Norwegian failed to convert, and the French champions preserved their three-goal advantage at that moment.
It is worth noting that Haaland entered the PSG game having already scored twice in this season's Champions League. Both goals came in Manchester City's 2-0 victory away to Porto in the opening round, when UEFA also named the Norwegian Player of the Match.
