Horror! African footballers go missing after the match!
The final of the largest youth tournament turned into a disturbing mystery.
Details: Around 20 young footballers from Ethiopia have been declared missing following their participation in the Gothia Cup tournament in Gothenburg. According to Swedish police, the missing teens are between 14 and 17 years old. The whereabouts of one or more team officials are also unknown.
On the day of the final, a staff member at the school where the Ethiopian team was staying discovered that the footballers had left the building without informing anyone. Gothia Cup organizers contacted the police, after which a missing persons report was officially filed.
Police stated that the teenagers did not return to Ethiopia at the scheduled time. Preliminary investigations suggest the disappearance was voluntary.
At the same time, there are no signs of a crime, including human trafficking. The motives of the young footballers and their exact whereabouts remain unknown.
It’s worth noting that the organizers call the Gothia Cup the largest and most international youth football tournament in the world.
Reminder: WAFCON 2026: Cameroon get off to a winning start.
