The Ukrainian national athletics team was caught in a Russian missile and drone attack while staying at a hotel in Lutsk. The official Instagram page of the Ukrainian Athletics Federation shared chilling footage of the aftermath.
According to reports, the assault lasted from 1 a.m. until 6 a.m. Lutsk was hit by six missiles and 15 Shahed drones, with the Motor hotel—where the Ukrainian athletics squad was staying ahead of a competition—coming under direct attack.
Ukrainian team athlete Sofiya Romasyuk also posted terrifying footage captured at the moment of the missile strike. She and her teammate were in their hotel room as powerful explosions rang out in the background.
According to the Ukrainian Athletics Federation, there were no injuries or fatalities among the athletes.
The strike targeted residential areas and the city center. Several apartment buildings also sustained significant damage.
