Horrendously huge sum. Manchester United became the leader of the transfer anti-rating list

Since the end of Sir Alex Ferguson's era, Manchester United has accustomed us to high-profile purchases, which, however, do not bring the club significant trophies, but only drive the club into a big disadvantage.

According to a report by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), Manchester United have topped the list of clubs with negative transfer balances over the last 10 years. Simply put, at Old Trafford, they spend more on transfers than they earn from them.

For example, Manchester United's transfer balance from 2015 to 2024 is -1.304 billion euros. Chelsea is not far behind the ‘red devils’ with a balance of -1.209 billion euros. Third in this anti-rating is PSG with a balance of -991 million euros.

It is noteworthy that of the 20 clubs in the selection, 12 are English, and even such seemingly modest clubs as Wolverhampton, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are present.
