Hope for the best. Martin Ødegaard speaks out about knee injury sustained against Brentford
Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has commented on the injury he picked up in the recent Premier League clash against Brentford (1-1). Although the midfielder managed to finish that match, his participation in upcoming games was left in doubt.
Details: Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard gave a detailed account of the moment during the Brentford match when he suffered the serious knock.
“I was trying to clear the ball as it dropped, but instead I caught the opposing player a bit. As a result, I stretched my leg too much, which led to a pinching sensation in my knee. I was able to continue playing, but on Friday morning the knee was really sore. Of course, I was worried, but fortunately, it looks like it’s not too bad,” the Norwegian said.
Martin expressed hope for a swift recovery, noting that a final decision will be made based on medical tests in the coming days.
It’s worth noting that Arsenal's next match is today, February 15th, where the Gunners will face Wigan from League One in the FA Cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 Central European Time. Ødegaard will definitely miss this fixture.
Reminder: Arsenal have set their sights on Inter’s young talent Francesco Pio Esposito.
