Manchester City footballer Abdukodir Khusanov traveled to Uzbekistan to participate in World Cup qualifying matches for his national team. Upon his arrival, he was met with a warm reception and an unexpected, luxurious gift, reports the Daily Mail.

The Uzbek was presented with the keys to a new Mercedes-Benz G-Class, valued at £135,000. It is worth noting that this splendid gift was given by his first coach, Ulugbek Asonboev, whom Khusanov met upon arriving in Tashkent.

It is reported that Khusanov was awarded this gift in connection with his transfer to Manchester City. Abdukodir became the first Uzbek footballer to sign a contract with a Premier League club.

Recall that Khusanov moved to England from Lens. City paid the French club £34 million for the defender's transfer. Before Lens, the 21-year-old Uzbek played for Bunyodkor in his homeland and then for Belarusian club Energetik-BGU.

In their World Cup qualifying group, Uzbekistan is currently in second place, three points ahead of the third-placed UAE. It should be noted that a second-place finish allows for direct qualification to the World Cup, and there are still 4 rounds left in the qualification.
