"Home." Leo Messi arrives home to join Argentina's national team training camp

Lionel Messi has touched down in Argentina to take part in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The superstar shared photos of his arrival on his Instagram page.

Although Argentina has already secured its ticket to the World Cup, Messi never misses the chance to represent his country on the pitch. His deep affection for the national team was evident in the caption of one of his photos: simply and succinctly, he wrote "Home" about his return to Argentina.

So far in the current qualifying campaign, Messi has played four matches for Argentina, notching up three goals and three assists.

Let’s recall that Lionel missed the previous national team fixtures due to a minor injury. Still, his teammates managed just fine without their captain and talisman, securing victories in both matches. The most memorable was a resounding home win over arch-rivals Brazil, with a 4-1 scoreline.

At this point, Argentina sits atop the qualifying group, eight points clear of their nearest challenger with four rounds left to play. Up next, Argentina faces crucial clashes against Chile and Colombia.
