The Olympic torch relay has begun!
Details: Today in Greece, the Olympic flame was ignited and will now be passed in a relay to representatives of Italy, marking the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22.
The first torchbearer was Greek Olympic canoeing medalist Petros Gkaidatzis, who handed the flame to Italian skiing legend Stefania Belmondo, and she, in turn, passed the Olympic flame to Armin Zöggeler.
The flame will travel 2,200 kilometers across Greece before being handed over to Italy at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens on December 4.
