Historic URC final in Dublin. Leinster and Bulls to draw 45,000 spectators
Today, the legendary Croke Park in Dublin is set to welcome around 45,000 fans for the spectacular BKT United Rugby Championship final between Ireland's Leinster and the South African Bulls.
Both teams are chasing their first-ever URC title, and the surging excitement has sparked near-record ticket demand. The previous attendance record for a final—46,092 at Aviva Stadium in 2018—could be eclipsed tonight. Ticket sales have outstripped expectations thanks to the hosts' vigorous promotion campaign.
The South Africans have made one enforced change to their starting lineup: Marco van Staden steps in for the injured Cameron Hanekom. This has reshuffled the back row, with captain Ruan Nortje staying alongside van Staden while Marcell Coetzee moves to number eight.
Leinster, meanwhile, led by captain Jack Conan, will take the field with an almost full-strength squad. The Irish side’s biggest hopes rest on the shoulders of stars Jamison Gibson-Park, James Lowe, and Jordie Barrett.
This final has become a true showcase of the rivalry between two of rugby’s powerhouse nations—Ireland and South Africa—set against the iconic backdrop of an Irish sporting cathedral. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 Central European Time.
