The decision is made. South Africa U20 squad announced for the Rugby World Cup
The World Rugby U20 Championship kicks off in Italy on June 29, and South Africa's national team is set to join the fray with their finalized squad.
Details: Head coach Kevin Foote has revealed the Junior Springboks' roster. For this tournament, forward Riley Norton will captain the team.
Reminder: This tournament in Italy marks the 14th international appearance for the South African U20 side. The Junior Springboks have never missed a championship, with their best result—a title win—coming in 2012.
Throughout their history, the Junior Springboks have frequently claimed medals, but in last year’s 2024 tournament as hosts, they failed to reach the playoffs, finishing third in Group C behind England, Argentina, and Fiji.
England will again be one of their group stage rivals in Italy, alongside Australia and Scotland. The championship will unfold in northern Italy from June 29 to July 19.
