Details: World Athletics has officially announced that Nairobi will host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, marking a historic first for the African continent. The Kenyan capital successfully triumphed over rival bids from London, Rome, and Munich following a highly competitive selection process overseen by the World Athletics Council.

In addition to awarding the 2029 edition to Nairobi, the governing body confirmed that Munich has been selected to host the subsequent World Athletics Championships in 2031.
