The number Barça have chased for years is finally official: Barcelona have broken the €1 billion revenue barrier for the first time in the club's history.
Details: The Catalans are set to record around €1.1 billion in revenue, surpassing even the €1.075 billion budgeted last October. Last season's accounts had closed just short at €994 million, and the full return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou proved the decisive push over the line.
The milestone caps a remarkable financial turnaround under Joan Laporta, re-elected president in March with 68% of the vote. Barça were posting heavy losses and selling off assets through the famous economic levers just a few years ago; now record merchandising income near €200 million, the lucrative stadium PSL scheme, new sponsorships including a €40 million deal with DR Congo's tourism body, and a full season back home have rebuilt the machine. On the pitch it has matched: Hansi Flick's side won a second consecutive La Liga title in May. The club still trail Real Madrid, whose €1.22 billion remains the benchmark, but the gap is closing fast, and the summer's €174 million spend, the biggest of the Laporta era, shows the new money is already being reinvested.
It's worth noting that Barcelona first targeted €1 billion in revenue as far back as 2018 as part of their strategic plan, eight years later, the goal is finally a reality.
