Football clubs Milan and Inter have announced the signing of a purchase agreement with the Milan municipality, under which they acquire the "San Siro Great Urban Function" area, including the legendary Giuseppe Meazza Stadium and the surrounding zone.
Details: The joint statement from both clubs reveals that their shared project envisions the construction of a new, state-of-the-art stadium and a large-scale redevelopment of the San Siro district. For Milan, this is not just an architectural update, but the launch of a sweeping urban transformation. Both clubs are determined to join forces to create a multifunctional complex that will serve not only sports, but also the city's cultural life.
This initiative reflects the strategic goals of the clubs’ owners—RedBird (AC Milan) and funds managed by Oaktree (Inter). They view this as a step towards long-term sporting success and sustainable development, as well as a way to boost the region’s investment appeal.
The deal is being financed by international banks Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, who are acting as co-leads on the project.
Reminder: Inter striker Ange-Yoan Bonny may switch his sporting nationality from France to Ivory Coast.
