The situation involving Prestianni and Vinícius has sparked widespread discussion.

Details: In a recent interview, 38-year-old former Real Madrid central midfielder Sami Khedira stated that the current “Galácticos” star Vinícius Júnior has a rather difficult character, which only tarnishes his image as a player.

Nevertheless, Khedira believes there is no place for racism in football:

“Viní’s celebrations? He’s a provocateur, that’s no secret.

He needs to realize that he’s a role model for millions of children, just like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Cristiano also used to show off his ego at first, until he understood his influence and embraced the role of a leader. That’s the next step for Vini.

But none of this justifies racist abuse. No one has the right to discriminate against another person because of their skin color or origin. And it’s sad that we have to keep repeating this.” Khedira said.

Sami Khedira played for Real Madrid from 2010 to 2015. He made 161 appearances for the Galácticos, scoring 9 goals and providing 13 assists. In July 2021, Khedira announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 34, with Hertha Berlin being his last club.

Reminder: UEFA concerned that tensions between Vinícius and Prestianni could escalate in the return leg
