Alvaro Morata’s career is about to take a highly unexpected turn.

Details: According to respected insider Fabrizio Romano, Como’s Spanish striker Alvaro Morata is close to joining Leganes, who play in Spain’s second division. The parties have already reached a verbal agreement over a loan move until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old forward has already travelled to Spain to undergo a medical examination scheduled for this weekend. The Italian club are reportedly willing to cover a significant portion of the player’s salary in order to make the transfer happen. Morata’s main motivation is said to be his desire to return to Madrid for family reasons.

It is worth noting that the Spanish striker made 26 appearances for Como in all competitions during the 2025/26 season, scoring one goal. According to the respected Transfermarkt portal, the player’s current market value stands at €6 million.
