Details: According to renowned and respected journalist and insider Fabrizio Romano on his X social media page, the Portugal national team has chosen its new head coach. Jorge Jesus has agreed to take charge of the national side following Roberto Martínez’s departure.

The experienced Portuguese tactician will lead the team in the upcoming Nations League campaigns, at Euro 2028, and at the next World Cup.

Jesus’s appointment is a logical continuation of his impressive work at club level. Last season, the 71-year-old coach guided Al Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title, where he worked alongside Portugal’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Now, Jesus faces the challenge of restoring the national team to the summit of world football after a disappointing World Cup campaign that led to Roberto Martínez’s resignation.
