Here we go! Real Madrid star makes surprise move to Betis
A familiar face is heading back to Seville in one of the most eye-catching moves of deadline day.
Details: According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, Dani Ceballos has agreed to return to Real Betis. The Spanish midfielder will join the Andalusian club as a free agent and is set to sign a three-year contract running until June 2029.
The move marks a return home for the 30-year-old midfielder. Ceballos came through the Betis academy and represented the club's first team before leaving for Real Madrid in 2017.
His departure from Madrid had already been confirmed earlier this summer. On June 26, Real Madrid officially announced that the club and Ceballos had mutually agreed to end his spell at the Santiago Bernabéu, allowing him to choose his next destination as a free agent.
Betis have now secured the midfielder without paying a transfer fee, while Ceballos gets the opportunity to begin another chapter at the club where his senior career started. It is worth noting that Real Madrid's official farewell credited the Spaniard with 215 appearances and 16 trophies for the club, including three European Cups and two La Liga titles.
