Here we go! João Cancelo is moving to Saudi Arabia
Manchester City full-back João Cancelo has decided to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.
The Saudis will pay €25 million for the player. The first part of the medical examination and verbal agreements between the parties has already been completed. The signing of the documents is expected to take place in the coming hours. Cancelo will earn €15 million per year.
It is worth noting that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola did not plan to include João Cancelo in his squad, leading him to seek a move away from the club this summer. Although Cancelo was initially reluctant to move to Asia, Manchester City encouraged this decision, as he would not have had significant playing time this season.
Last season, Cancelo was on loan at Barcelona, where he played 42 matches, scored 4 goals, and provided 5 assists.
Al-Hilal has already claimed the Saudi Super Cup this season, defeating Al-Nassr 4-1 in the final.
